HOW IT STARTED
“I became a doctor to help women thrive — then life reshaped how I deliver care.”
I earned my medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin in 1998, followed by OB/GYN residency at Rochester General Hospital — an early leader in robotic surgery. I returned to Wausau, WI, to a busy practice in full-scope OB/GYN. I am passionate about supporting women through every phase — from empowering birth control choices to solving heavy periods (so yes, you could wear white pants again!). I loved the work. Then, in 2014, a cancer diagnosis ended my time in traditional medicine — but not my calling.
In my own healing journey, I discovered new dimensions of care: nutrition, lifestyle, supplements. That curiosity led me to complete a year-long fellowship in Integrative Medicine in 2024. Reignited by what I’d learned, I was called back into patient care and opened Pause Medicine — a space where science meets empathy, and where women are truly seen.
HOW I HELP TODAY
Menopause. Sexual wellness. Lifelong vitality.
At Pause Medicine, I care for women the way I wish was more common — by listening deeply, customizing care, and honoring the whole person. Whether you're navigating perimenopause, facing intimacy concerns, or simply want to feel like yourself again, I blend 25+ years of OB/GYN experience with integrative tools that go above and beyond prescriptions. I am comfortable integrating these arenas of care, think hormone therapies, mind-body practices, nutrition strategies — and support that evolves with you.
ALWAYS GROWING
This next chapter is personal — for both of us.
I’m always learning, not just as a physician, but as a woman moving through midlife herself. I bring that lived experience into every discovery session, every plan we build together. I’m not here to fix you — I’m here to partner with you, to guide you, and to remind you that you are not alone and have agency over your health in this season of life.
OUTSIDE THE CLINIC
French horn, fresh air, and family.
I grew up the youngest of three in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin where outdoor adventures and school band shaped my early days (yes, I still play the French horn in local community bands!). I studied English at Lawrence University before pivoting toward medicine — thanks to a speech by British MP Diane Abbott that lit a fire in me I couldn’t ignore.
Today, I live in Wausau with my husband of 20+ years, Jan — a dentist, Ironman, and aviator — and our two loyal German Shepherds. We’re proud parents to three college-aged kids who are now out of the nest. When I’m not with patients, you’ll find me boating, biking, playing music, writing, or diving into a good book with my longtime book club.
